Westbriar Elementary Science Fair 2025

We are excited to announce that the Westbriar Elementary Science Fair will be held on Thursday April 3, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm for families, and on Friday, April 4^th during the school day for students.

All Science Fair participants MUST register. To register, click here. The registration deadline is March 28, 2025.

Preparing your Project

Go to the Science Fair page of the Westbriar PTA website where you’ll find documents helpful in preparing your project including project ideas, project guidelines, and links to resources.

Please note: students are prohibited from bringing to school the following in their projects: mold, bacteria, humans (including human surveys), and vertebrates. Students may also not bring fizzy, combustible or explosive items such as cola, firecrackers etc

Presenting your Project

Student should bring their project and set up in the evening from 5pm to 6pm - Check-in at the Front Lobby. 

At the Science Fair on Thursday, April 3^rd, you are asked to stand in front of your project for a 45-minute session that evening. During that time, people may ask you questions about your project or ask you to explain your findings.

You should stand by your project from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. if you are in Grades K-3 (venue: Cafeteria).

You should stand by your project from 7:15 to 8:00 p.m. if you are in Grades 4-6 (venue: Gymnasium).

When you are not standing with your project, you may view other projects at the Fair. Please do not remove your project at the end of the evening on Thursday, April 3^rd. On Friday, April 4^th Westbriar classes will have the opportunity to visit the Fair during the school day. You are required to take your project home with you at the end of school on Friday, April 4^th (all projects will be in the Gymnasium).

Students may select to do either an Experiment Driven Project or a Device / Model Project.

PLEASE NOTE: Students are prohibited from bringing to school the following in their projects: vertebrate animals or tissue, Humans (including human surveys), Recombinant DNA, Controlled substances, Hazardous chemicals or devices or activities, Microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, molds), and fizzy, combustible, or explosive items.
